For the Christmas craft enthusiasts out there, I present Ruth’s cute DIY holiday gnome ideas!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go, especially on this page.😁
Gnomes with colorful Nordic wool sweaters and Icelandic patterns may put you in the holiday spirit. These details, combined with seasonal embellishments, make them even more endearing.

The holiday season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek ways to make life better for those around us.

Holiday Gnome Ideas
Below are just a fraction of the DIY holiday gnomes that Ruth has created for the holiday season. Enjoy!
Be inspired by the gnome ideas below, and then make your own with this step-by-step tutorial.

Materials
Ruth scours local craft stores like Hobby Lobby to find gnome-making materials. Remember to look at the clearance sections, too.
Be sure to check out the Christmas ornament sections of your local craft retailer for decorative details to add to your holiday gnomes.

Bells and Christmas Stockings
Thrift stores like Goodwill or Savers are full of materials to create gnomes. Check out the sweater and coat racks, vintage buttons, or ribbons.
Visit dollar stores for seasonal novelties, small trinkets, and props.

Velvet Bows and Christmas Wreaths
Ruth checks out Amazon.com for adornments, patches, or props. She searches Facebook Marketplace and occasionally finds old sweaters, buttons, or other embellishments.
You can also discover decorative touches sold in sets on sites such as Etsy or Amazon.
Remember that it’s possible to separate large decorative items and then use the smaller pieces to decorate and outfit more than one gnome.

Nordic Skiing Gnomes
Go to Etsy for a full range of embellishment ideas, from buttons and patches to ribbons and props.
Ruth just found beautiful Norwegian trim on Etsy. It is $5/yard with shipping. It’s so cute!! Check out Ribbonworks Design.
